How can we tune ourselves to the music that surrounds us? How can we bear the sorrow of its silencing? Where do we turn, when words are not enough to express the urgency of action to save the songs?

Hear Kathleen read from her new book, "Earth’s Wild Music: Celebrating and Defending the Songs of the Natural World." Listen to a tiny concert, “Sidewinder Rattlesnake,” with author Craig Childs, accompanied by jazz percussionist Jonathan Rodriguez. Tune in -- as wolves howl, loons call, thrushes whistle, and humpback whales roar on this music-box of a planet.
